Lang Co sits on the northern side of the Hai Van mountains, so the ride takes you out of the Da Nang bay and into a quieter stretch of coast.
How you get there: north around the bay
From the airport the car follows the curve of Da Nang Bay north, past the port area and the fishing villages at the foot of the mountains. It then enters the Hai Van tunnel, which runs under the mountain spur, and comes out just above the Lang Co lagoon.
Most transfers use the tunnel. The Hai Van Pass over the top is a scenic alternative that adds time; if you want it, request it and check your offer.
Lagoon, beach and resort complexes
Lang Co is a long sandy spit between the sea and a calm lagoon, backed by forested hills. The village is small and has a fishing harbour and seafood restaurants on the lagoon side.
Most visitors stay at the large resorts along the beach between Lang Co and Chan May, including the Laguna Lang Co complex with its villas and golf course. These are self-contained and spread out, with their own entrance gates and reception buildings. The driver takes you to the main reception, and resort staff move you to your villa.

Timing your departure from Lang Co
For an international flight, leave Lang Co about four and a quarter hours before departure: around an hour and ten minutes on the road, three hours at the airport and a short buffer. In the rainy and typhoon months from about September to December, plan an extra half hour, as rain can slow traffic around the tunnel and the bay.
