Dubai Shopping Festival 2026/27: Dates, Events and Planning Tips
The 32nd Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. What is announced, when to book, where to stay and how long the drive from DXB takes.
When is the Dubai Shopping Festival 2026/27?
The 32nd Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) takes place across Dubai from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 17 January 2027. The 45-day festival is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) and brings promotions in malls and markets together with outdoor events, live entertainment and pop-up venues.
The timing matters for planning. DSF opens two days after UAE National Day on 2 December and then runs through Christmas, New Year's Eve and the first half of January. That makes it one of the busiest stretches of the year in Dubai.
What has been announced for this edition so far?
DFRE has confirmed a first set of events, with the full programme expected closer to the start:
- DSF Nights at Festival Bay, Dubai Festival City
- etisalat Beach Canteen at Sunset Beach, 10–27 December 2026
- etisalat MOTB market at Dubai Design District (d3), 8–24 January 2027
- DSF x Hatta Wadi Hub, returning in the mountains of Hatta
- DSF Auto Season, also returning
Show dates, fireworks, raffles and individual mall offers are usually published in stages. Check the official Dubai festivals and Visit Dubai channels shortly before you travel for the exact days of anything you want to see.
When should you travel and where should you stay?
December and January are Dubai's mild season. Daytime highs are usually in the mid-20s °C, with noticeably cooler evenings, so outdoor markets, beach venues and desert trips are comfortable. A light jacket for the evening and for strongly air-conditioned malls is worth packing.
Hotel demand peaks between Christmas and New Year, and prices follow. If your dates are fixed around the holidays, book accommodation and flights early. The quieter weeks are usually early-to-mid December and the second week of January, when the festival is still on but the holiday rush has eased.
Where you stay shapes your trip. Downtown Dubai and Business Bay put you close to the large malls and the city centre. Bur Dubai and Deira suit visitors who want the souks, the creek and short airport runs. Dubai Marina, JBR and Palm Jumeirah are the beach choices, but they sit further from the airport and from Festival City.
How do you get from Dubai International Airport to your hotel?
From Dubai International Airport (DXB), the drive to Downtown Dubai and Business Bay is about 20 km and usually takes 24–30 minutes. Bur Dubai and Deira are closer at around 16 km, or 20–25 minutes. Dubai Marina and JBR are about 41 km away and Palm Jumeirah about 43 km, both usually 44–55 minutes. Evening traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road can stretch these times, especially on festival weekends and around New Year.
Many long-haul flights land late at night, and arriving with children, large suitcases or sports gear is easier when the car is already arranged. HotelTaxi can arrange a private transfer with a local provider, booked online or on WhatsApp, with the driver meeting you in the arrivals area. For the return, mention extra shopping bags when booking so a larger vehicle can be sent.
For day trips, Hatta is about 122 km from the airport and usually 97–122 minutes by road, which makes an early start sensible if you want to see the Wadi Hub in daylight. Abu Dhabi is about 158 km, usually 104–130 minutes.
