Costa Teguise lies on the north-east coast, on the far side of Arrecife from the airport. Your driver takes you around the capital and directly to your hotel or apartment, without stops.

The route around Arrecife

Rather than crossing the centre of Arrecife, the drive normally follows the main road east from the airport onto the capital's ring road, then continues north-east along the coast to Costa Teguise. Almost the whole trip is on wide main roads.

The slowest section is usually the Arrecife ring road during weekday rush hours, when local commuter traffic can add a few minutes. Beyond the city the road runs past low white buildings, open volcanic land and glimpses of the sea.

Costa Teguise beaches and hotel areas

Playa de las Cucharas
The main beach in the middle of the resort, with a promenade, restaurants and windsurf schools. Many of the larger hotels are close by.
Playa del Jablillo and Playa Bastián
Smaller, more sheltered beaches south of the centre, popular with families with young children and lined with apartment complexes.
Pueblo Marinero
A small square built in the style of a fishing village at the heart of the resort, surrounded by restaurants and bars.
Around the golf course
Inland, Costa Teguise has its own golf course with villas and holiday homes around it. Give the full address for these residential streets.

Windsurfing, golf and long winter stays

The steady trade winds make Costa Teguise one of the island's windsurfing centres, and the golf course just inland draws golfers through the winter. The resort also has many self-catering apartments, which makes it popular for stays of several weeks between October and April.

Boards, golf bags and luggage for a long stay need more space than a standard car offers. Declare them when booking so a minivan or a larger vehicle meets you at the airport.

Arriving as a family

With a private transfer the children go straight from the arrivals hall to the car and are at the hotel about twenty minutes later. Child seats can be requested when booking; give the children's ages so the right seats are fitted.

Groups of up to about seven travel together in one minivan, with space for pushchairs and beach gear.
