Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) → Paris city centre transfer

Central Paris is only 27 km from Charles de Gaulle Airport, yet the private transfer typically takes 62–78 minutes because the final part is slow city driving. Prices are usually around €70–90 for a standard car (1–3 passengers) and €90–120 for a minivan (up to about seven), and the exact price is shown before booking.

Why 27 km takes more than an hour

The first half is fast. From the airport the driver takes the A1 south past Saint-Denis and the Stade de France, or the A3 towards the east of the city, depending on your address and the traffic.

The time is lost after that. Both motorways feed into the boulevard périphérique, where the limit is 50 km/h, and then into city streets with traffic lights, bus lanes, delivery vans and one-way systems. On weekday mornings the inbound motorways queue well before Paris, so the upper end of the range is normal rather than exceptional.

The journey step by step

  1. Arrivals at CDG

The driver waits at the agreed meeting point with a name sign and helps with the luggage.

  2. A1 or A3 motorway

Roughly 15–20 km through the northern suburbs towards the Paris city limit.

  3. Périphérique or city gate

The car enters Paris at a porte such as Porte de la Chapelle and continues on the ring road or straight into the streets.

  4. Your arrondissement

The last few kilometres are city driving to your address, often the slowest part of the trip.

Getting to your door in Paris

Many Paris hotels sit on narrow streets where cars can only stop briefly. Your driver pulls up as close to the entrance as the street allows and helps unload. Since late 2024 through traffic is limited in the four central arrondissements, but journeys to an address there, such as a hotel, are allowed.

For apartments, send the exact address including the building entrance and any code you will need, so the driver can find the right door quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Is the price higher if we get stuck in traffic?

No. The price is agreed before booking and stays the same, however long the drive into Paris takes.

When is traffic from CDG into Paris worst?

Weekday mornings inbound and late afternoons are the busiest times. Evenings with a big event at the Stade de France can also slow the A1.

Can the driver drop us at a hotel on a pedestrian street?

Cars cannot enter pedestrian-only streets, so the driver stops at the nearest point where stopping is allowed. Hotel staff can often help with bags for the last metres.

Is a minivan worth it for four people?

With four adults and full-size suitcases, yes, because a standard car is usually limited to three passengers with luggage. A minivan also helps with pushchairs.

Can we book a pickup from our Paris hotel back to CDG?

Yes. Book the return as its own transfer with your hotel address, terminal and flight time, and the price is shown before you confirm.
