Agadir Al-Massira International Airport transfer

This page explains how a private transfer from Agadir Al-Massira International Airport (AGA) works and what to expect on the drive to the Agadir beach hotels, Tamraght and Taghazout. HotelTaxi books your ride with a local transfer company that knows the airport, and the total price is shown and agreed before you travel.

The airport lies inland, south-east of the city, so every transfer starts with a stretch through the Souss plain before reaching the coast. Depending on where you stay, the ride takes from about half an hour to a little over an hour.

Transfers from this airport

Arriving at Agadir Airport

AGA is a single-terminal airport that handles many holiday and low-cost flights from Europe, especially in the winter months. After passport control and baggage reclaim you walk into the arrivals hall, where your driver waits with a name sign.

Please add your flight number when you book. The local provider can then follow the actual landing time, and the agreed price stays the same if your flight is late. Exact meeting details are confirmed by the provider directly with you by phone or WhatsApp before or on arrival.

The ride is private: no shared shuttle and no stops at other hotels on the way.

Popular transfers from AGA

Agadir hotel zone
28 km, typically 32–40 minutes. The long beach-front strip of hotels, apartments and holiday clubs between the marina and the southern Founty area.
Tamraght
42 km, typically 48–60 minutes. A hillside village north of Agadir with surf camps, guesthouses and beach breaks that suit learners.
Taghazout
49 km, typically 55–69 minutes. Morocco’s best-known surf village, with the newer Taghazout Bay resort area and its golf course just to the south.

Two kinds of holiday, one airport

Most travellers landing at AGA head for one of two very different places. Agadir itself is a modern resort city, rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, with a wide sandy bay, a long promenade and large hotels that attract families, couples and winter-sun visitors who stay for weeks.

North of the city the coast becomes rockier and the atmosphere changes. Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout are small villages where surf camps, yoga retreats and simple guesthouses sit next to fishing boats and point breaks. Here the transfer often includes board bags as well as suitcases.

How long the drives take

The airport road runs west across the flat farmland of the Souss plain before joining the busier roads into Agadir. The beach hotels are the shortest ride, at about 32–40 minutes.

For Tamraght and Taghazout the car continues past the port and follows the coast road north, with the Atlantic on the left. Expect roughly 48–69 minutes depending on the village and on traffic in and around Agadir, which is heaviest at weekday rush hours and on summer evenings.

Choosing the right vehicle

Private car
For 1–3 passengers with normal luggage. Fine for most couples heading to a beach hotel in Agadir.
Minivan
For families and groups of up to about seven, or for fewer people travelling with surfboards, golf bags or a lot of luggage.
Larger vehicles
Groups, surf camps and retreat organisers can request a larger vehicle when booking.
Child seats
Request them when you book, stating the age of each child, so the provider can prepare the car.

When people fly to Agadir

The main season runs from October to April, when the region is mild and sunny while northern Europe is cold. This is also when Atlantic swells are most consistent, so the surf villages are at their busiest. School holidays in France, the Benelux countries and Germany bring extra family arrivals.

For the return trip, plan to leave your hotel early enough to reach the airport about two to three hours before departure. From the Agadir beach hotels that usually means leaving about three hours before your flight, and from Tamraght or Taghazout about three and a half hours before.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Agadir Airport from the hotels?

What happens if my flight to Agadir is delayed?

Add your flight number when booking so the provider can follow the real landing time. The agreed price does not change because of a delay.
