ABOUT SARAJEVO CITY

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a population of 438.000. City is situated in the narrow valley of the Miljacka River at the foot of Mount Trebević. The city itself blends in harmony with its natural surroundings. It is bordered by hills on the north, and Mount Trebević on the south.

Most of the Sarajevo’s tourist attractions are located in the Old Town known as Bascarsija spreading towards the city centre. In the Old Town, the Ottoman bazaar entices visitors to shop and linger. Here it is a pleasure to stop at one of the numerous coffee shops and enjoy Turkish coffee from a little copper coffee pot.In Sarajevo, there are different possibilities for entertainment and exciting social life. Sarajevo is known for its multiculturalism, in which there are 100 mosques for prayer, as well as several Catholic and Orthodox churches, cathedrals and synagogues. That’s way Sarajevo also know as “Jerusalem of Europe”.

Sarajevo has a humid continental climate. The best time to visit Sarajevo is between spring and autumn.The weather is usually more pleasant  at this period.
