It has been standing on the same spot for more than 700 years and forms part of Pisa Cathedral in its role as bell tower. The Campanile or bell tower of Pisa Cathedral is a beautiful structure in its own right, but it has been made famous by its noticeable tilt.

Pisa has Mediterranean climate with mild winters and very warm summers. The best time to visit the city from April to September.
