ABOUT PISA
The Province of Pisa is located in central-western Tuscany, covering a stretch of coastline, wide plains and rolling hills that include the Colline Metallifere to the South. The city lies on the alluvial plain of the Arno River, with 200,000 residents.
Pisa is a legendary city and one of the most famous in this region of Italy. The most popular seaside resorts are Marina di Pisa, with its typical Art Nouveau villas, and Tirrenia, immersed in greenery. The scenic complex of Certosa di Pisa near Calci is also worth a visit, while the typical small town of San Miniato is located on a hill overlooking the Valle Arno River Valley.
Pisa the Leaning Tower still most famous image of the city and main tourist attraction center. It has been standing on the same spot for more than 700 years and forms part of Pisa Cathedral in its role as bell tower. The Campanile or bell tower of Pisa Cathedral is a beautiful structure in its own right, but it has been made famous by its noticeable tilt.
Pisa has Mediterranean climate with mild winters and very warm summers. The best time to visit the city from April to September.
