Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe and since ancient times it has been an important traffic focal point, an intersection of the roads of Eastern and Western Europe. Belgrade is a vibrant city, surprising in its diversity and rich in its history and culture, that’s why there are so many attractions.  Belgrade Fortress and the Kalemegdan Park together represent a cultural monument of exceptional importance, the area where various sport, cultural and arts events take place, and are fun and joy for all generations of Belgraders and numerous visitors of the city.

In the inner area of the City of Belgrade there are many historical streets and squares such as Student Square, and the most famous one is the Republic Square. Knez Mihailova Street is a pedestrian zone and shopping center - protected by law as one of the oldest and most valuable monumental complexes of the city. Vracar is another interesting part of Belgrade beyond the Slavija square: its narrow, crooked streets are lined with houses and smaller buildings that are older than most other parts of town.
