ABOUT ALMATY CITY

Almaty is the largest city and ex-capital of Kazakhstan. City is situated in the southeastern part of Kazakhstan in the valley of the rivers Bolshaya and Malaya Almatinka and their tributaries flowing from the glaciers of the Zailiskii Alatau mountains and gorges. Mountain rivers and lakes are the main source of the city’s water supply.
